So I've updated this blog, because I've added some details and it needed a change.

So we've had a few clips so far, some good, some pretty poor quality. We still need your help though! We don't have enough to fill the video. Rob and I know that this world is full of Machinae Supremacy fans..they just haven't taken part yet.

So.. Are you embarrassed? Have a crap camera? No one to help you? Tough shit. We don't care what you look like, borrow a camera, do it yourself! Simple! We want your help!

We need more sid! We need more clips! And we know you are all capable of doing it!

Competition Time!

Hello MaSu fans...again! First off I'd like to welcome our newest street team member Jordan! He has happily agreed to help me run our Facebook page! So be nice to him :)

As the title of this blog states we will be holding our first ever competition! Jordan came up with the idea. We brainstormed and thought of something that would benefit us and the fans.

We have a copy of Giana Sisters : Twisted Dreams to give away! But I need to make it clear, this is a steam only copy - so you will need to have a steam account.

What you need to do: All you need to do is design a logo/banner for us - the only rule is: It must say Machinae UK on it. You can design it any way you like. Once complete you must post your design on our wall. Then we will deliberate and pick what we think is the best design!

You have until 5/01/13 to complete it!! Make sure you have fun with it as well!

Christmas Interview with MaSu

First off let me say Merry Christmas Masu fans! Welcome to the Christmas blog! In this blog there will be a special Christmas interview with Robert, Nicky and Andreas, plus some little Christmas snippets.

I started my Christmas shopping at the end of November, and now I’m all done, and 90% of my wrapping is done. I spent quite a bit of money, but it doesn’t matter really, because I know it’ll make people happy. I know that presents aren't the main aspect of Christmas, but sitting together, watching people opening presents just makes me smile. But enough of me. How about an interview? With Rob, Gordon and Nicky? That sounds good right?!

Q: Do you guys like Christmas? (sounds like a silly thing to ask, but some people are scrouges this time of year)

A: Yes, very much so.
R: Christmas isn’t a big deal really for me, but my family likes it and I enjoy the candles and atmosphere.
N: Not so much a celebration, more like enjoying it with my family. Some of us live 1000 km apart and we usually only meet on holidays or vacations. So good food and family, no presents or traditional stuff like that.

Q: Do you get a Christmas tree?

R: Yes, we have a tree.
A: Well, not me personally but my parents do and that’s where I spend my Christmas eve.

Q: Rob, what does Evelyn (his daughter) think about Christmas?

R: Evelyn likes Christmas I guess like any kid who likes presents and candy :)

Q:  Gord, do you buy presets for people?

A: Yes, but only a few.

Q: Do you have any Christmas traditions?

A: The only tradition is to meet up with family and relatives for dinner on Christmas eve.
N: Yeah, I always watch the movie "Bad Santa" each year. I believe it's one of the best movies ever made and I made it my only real christmas tradition. Poker at my dads place was also a tradition before he passed away last year.


Q: Do you guys do anything together over christmas?

N: No special routines but we will surely hang out and probably rehearse also

I know one thing, we all value our families, and spending some quality time with them - especially during the winter. I normally hate being around my family for too long, but around christmas i quite enjoy it.

Machinae Supremacy Christmas Project Is Complete!

I'd like to say a huge thank you to a few certain people: Joey, Steve, Victor, Mark, Patrick and Nika - who took part in my christmas project. This project was actually a present for the band, a video from all their loyal fans. I'm disappointed that there were only seven fan clips, when there are so many other fans all over the world; yet I think it turned out really well. So THANK YOU to you lot, you've made me and the band proud!

Machinae UK Interview with Tomi Luoma!

Hey guys, I hope you're all doing awesomly!

I said I would post an interview, so here it is. Today I had the opportunity to speak to Tomi Luoma, and I can tell you all that he is so so so so so so LOVELY! I got to have a good chat with him, which I will share with you in about 2 secs! I'll do it as I usually do, like a question and answer session. I'll put MUK for Machinae UK and TL for Tomi, just to make things easier for you all! So here, enjoy!

MUK: First off welcome to the awesomeness! Would it be okay if I asked you a few questions?

TL: Hey Vicky! Thx and sure you can ask me anything. =)


MUK: That's awesome!! Okay let me think.. What made you want to join the band, and do you get on well with the rest of the guys?

TL: Well we have been a opening act for MaSu with my own band Kill The Romance for hmmm about 3 years now whenever they have toured Finland, so the guys are pretty familiar to me and I have had lots of fun these guys on the road. And actually last time we were opening for MaSu, me and the bass player from K.T.R were watching MaSu's gig and I said to him that " It would be awesome to play this kind of music!" =D Of course there are lots of reasons why I joined the band. 1st of all the guys asked my to join which is a hell of a compliment to me. 2ndly I really am a FAN of the band!


MUK: What do you think of the street team?

TL: Street team does extremely valuable work for the band! It would be nice to meet every member of the team someday and say thx! :)

MUK: the street team members. You're talking to her. The one and only!

TL: Aaa nice!! Well then I appreciate the work you're doin'! ^^


MUK: Do you have a favourite Mach song?

TL: "Dark City" has always been my favourite but "Skin" is strongly taking the pole at the moment. :)


MUK: Do you like touring and playing live shows?

TL: Playing live is the thing for me!! Just love it!


MUK: What do you think you bring to the band?

TL: Don't know yet how big of an influence will I be to the music but we'll see that when we start to write new material. At the moment I can just say that I'll bring more hair and if it's possible more action to the live performance. =)


MUK: What do you think about the fans? Awesome right?

TL: Well I haven't met any in person yet but the way they have welcomed me to the band is pure win!! Can't wait to meet the fans!

 

MUK: What's your favourite colour?

TL: My favourite colour is black


MUK: What type of guitar do you use?

TL: I use Jackson KE-2 guitars, same as Jonne


MUK: I think that's it!

TL: It was a pleasure to answer your questions



MUK: I just like to keep in touch with the band, and have an awesome street team/band relationship. And the fans need updating :)

 

TL: This "interview" actually couldn't happen in a more convenient time coz I needed a break from practising MaSu songs =D  Been playing for 4 hous already today =)

 

 

 

MUK: And that's loads!! You deserve a break! I should be working :P but this is more exciting!

 

TL: haha xD  I got off from work 5 hours ago and now it's few days of pure holiday and playing ;)

MUK: I'll pop up occasionally to bug you.

Hello. Hello. Wow I'm actually writing another blog! That's pretty weird. I never write this much. I'm always chatting though, its kinda hard to shut me up. But since I've been sick, I've kept to myself for the last 4 days. Being ill showed me how much my parents do for me, its weird. 

No one really understands why I do this. Run this fan thing. This street team. My mother sees it as an obsession, a waste of time, she thinks people are just being nice to me. When it comes to things like this I prefer not to pay attention to her. I don't do this for the attention, although being acknowledged is nice. I just want the world to hear what I do, see the awesomeness.

I guess I am ranting a little. I spent a lot of yesterday with my earpods in, just sat, listening to Rise of a Digital Nation, over and over. It was great. I think that album is amazing. It took some time for me to really get into it, as I was used to listening to some of their older stuff.

This post, its now, well going no where, and I doubt that anyone is reading. If you are. Aloha!

Moving forward...

Hello...again. Yep two blog posts in one day..weird. Usually I don't have enough words to fill the page. So right now I actually have a reason to post. Nope, its not the new christmas blog. I'm still doing my research for that!

Our page and twitter, and of course this blog...we're really not going anywhere. I received a message from Rob, and it has been decided that we are moving in a new direction. We are trying to improve, trying to further develop the street team. Things may go a little quiet for a while, but we will come back fighting strong!

I would never ever want to give this up. Running this makes me extremely happy. I know that only a few of you support what I do, and I am so grateful. Things are going to get much better, much more Supreme!

I hope you will join me in celebrating. Out with the old, and fuck yeah lets welcome in the new! From now on we are Machinae UK!

Machinae Christmas?

So guys..it's only a week till Christmas! Yep! Just one whole week. 7 days!

I love Christmas, and yes because of the presents. But also because I get to spend time eating yummy food with my family.

We haven't gotten our tree yet, as we're running a bit behind this year. But we should have it very soon. I love decorating the tree, it's so much fun!!

So, what do you do for Christmas? Do you have all the traditions? Or do you like to keep it simple? I want to know!!

I'll be having a super rocking Machinae Christmas! Blasting tunes wherever I go!

There will be one more blog before the great day, not sure when, but there will be!

Tour update.

Guys. I have some..news. There have been a few minor problems with the upcoming April tour. We are not sure if the tour will go ahead. We have to wait and see what the future holds.

I'll update you soon when I know more!

A few random facts..

Hello Machinae Fans!!

So, I've had no recent tour information, as its all still being processed. All we know is April. As soon as I find out you will all be the first to know! So sorry about that guys!

Instead I found out a few random facts, just little bits of useless information, that nobody really cares about. I'm guessing you lot want to know right? Okay. Fine.

Did you know that Rob drives a Mitsubishi, he doesn't believe in ghosts and his favourite tv show is Suits? Or maybe that Andrea's has an iphone? And loves driving to places? Well now you do!

As I said, its not really useful, but it is something you never knew!

April 2013

As I mentioned in the previous blog, the Machinae Supremacy headline tour is going to take place in April 2013. Just a quick update: Gordon is in the process of speaking to the promoters, regarding the tour, and Rob well he's leaving it to Gord for the time being :)

So we all know that Machinae Supremacy are doing a headline tour, and I can now tell you that it will be in April 2013! The dates I will let you know..when I find out myself!

New album & headline tour

I'm so glad that I pre ordered the new album, Rise of a Digital Nation. It's brilliant. Another great record! So congrats and thank you to the band for making us fans so happy!

Also I have some secret information regarding a tour. Machinae will be doing a headline tour in 2013, dates haven't yet been confirmed and I'm afraid I can't tell you which month just yet...

Rise of a Digital Nation...

Rise of a Digital Nation. But what exactly does it mean?

"The album title is simply what the album is about.. We felt what we are observing now is the rise of a digital nation, meaning the rise of a digital identity and the sense of belonging that comes with it. The artwork has a deeper meaning than that, but suffice to say it sports an anarchist angel that is setting fire to the world. What it means exactly I'd rather not just give away" - Robert Stjarnstrom.

There's only 12 days to go, that's under two weeks! I'm really excited. If you haven't pre-ordered a copy you need to do it now!!

Have you pre-ordered?

Rise of A Digital Nation has its release date, October 19th. That's actually not that far off! I pre-ordered my copy last weekend, and I'm really excited for the release! There's actually some good deals on their online store. I purchased the pre-order bundle :D Links will be posted at the end of the post!

I also found out a little bit of awesome information, which I'll share with you. I love to watch TV shows for little girls. One in particular - My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. On twitter I post pony related things and Rob tweeted at me (I'm not quite sure what) but he hinted that his little girl (who is now 4 by the way!!) is into that and he has to watch it with her ;) We have a brony in the making!! <3

3 Months To Go...

Its been a while since we heard any news about the highly anticipated Machinae Supremacy album. So here at Machinae Manchester we decided to do some research. We wanted to know how the album production was going. So how do we go about doing this? Well we ask lead singer Robert Stjärnström. 

We asked him "Is there any news on the album?" And this is what he told us:

"Nothing more than 'working on it' :) " 

Not much to go off, but we figured that everything was going to plan, ready to meet the October release.

We're excited, are you?!

Album Update!

So I was able to get a quote from Andreas Gerdin about what we can expect from the new Machinae Supremacy album! Here's what he said: "I'm looking forward to the release! A lot of work left on it, but we should make the October release. The album is Machinae Supremacy. Different but same. Some things might feel new and some will sound like earlier albums. I think this album will be a little heavier (more metal?) than the last one, but it's too soon to say. By the end of July we'll know."

I found this amusing...

So I'm on Twitter a lot, and I post random tweets all the time.. Yesterday I posted this:

"How come I always find myself on Twitter?" and I woke up the next morning and found I had a reply to this tweet and it amused me. It read: 

"Robert Stjärnström because Twitter is to Facebook what farts are to shit. The fun without the mess ;)"

I found it FUNNY and decided to SHARE it with YOU! Hehe.

Machinae Gaming!

So our sources have found out that the song 'Nova Prospekt' was based on the Valve game Half Life. When asked about playing the game Rob told us that he does but "Not recently". Just a little fact for you :)

New album?

Many of you have wondered if there is a new Machinae Supremacy album on the way. I am pleased to inform you all that yes there is a new album on the horizon! 

Rob told us here at Machinae Manchester that the album will be out  soon and that the release is "set for October."

Following Rob's posts on Twitter we know that the band have already starting working on what will be yet another fantastic album. Rob told his followers that "Let May 17th be known as the day we made something like half our next album". 

Can't wait? Neither can we. Bring on October!

Interview with Robert Stjärnström.

So here at Machinae Manchester we got the chance to ask lead vocalist Robert Stjärnström some vital questions to help us understand more about the band. We have now decided to share this with all of you. The fans. Enjoy.

Q:  So Rob how did you come up with the name Machinae Supremacy?
A: It's a cyberpunk influenced concept. Machines already outnumber us. How long until they outsmart us? :)

Q: What is your favourite song that you've done?
A: It varies from day to day, but today.... Force Feedback.

Q: Where do you get your inspiration from?
A: TV, movies, music, video games. Inspiration is everywhere, all the time.

Q: How easy is it for you to write lyrics?

A: Sometimes very, but most of the time I spend a lot of time and effort on it.

Q: My favourite song is 'The Greatest Show on Earth' could you explain to me what the song is about, 

     how you came up with it? 

A: It's about our generation, which I call Generation Online. We are constantly connected, and we waste 

    time like we know nothing else, yet still we wouldn't want it any other way. The greatest show on  

    earth is right before our eyes. 

Q: What is the best thing about being in Machinae?

A: Making and playing the songs we do. And meeting and interacting with all the awesome people who 

     listen to our music. 

Q: Sum up one of your live shows in one word?

A: Blast

Q: What's it like touring all around the world?

A: It's kinda like Groundhog Day (with Bill Murray). Pretty awesome but weird. You get to see a lot of 

     places and meet a lot of people, but you never stay anywhere for long, so every day it all starts over 

    (and most days are the same with regards to playing, crew, schedule, etc. 

Q: If you wren't in Machinae what would you be doing?

A: Probably I'd do something involving writing or graphics. Or I'd be aiming for film music production.

Q:  Do you have anything you'd like to say to your fans?

A: Stay win & awesome! Kill those fuckers on Wall street ;)
